X-SEAL® TRANSITION MEMBRANE IS A SELF-SEALING, SELF-ADHERING DETAIL TAPE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE ADVANCED AIR AND MOISTURE PROTECTION WITHIN WALL ASSEMBLIES AND THE ENVIRO-BARRIER™ SYSTEM.
X-Seal® Transition Membrane is a high-performance adhesive-backed flashing and transition tape engineered for dual-purpose applications in air and moisture management systems. Commonly used behind the Hohmann & Barnard X-SEAL Anchor, it helps create a tight seal around fastener penetrations to reduce air and moisture infiltration while enhancing the overall effectiveness of the anchoring system.
In addition to anchor sealing applications, X-Seal® Transition Membrane is designed to work in conjunction with ENVIRO-BARRIER™, ENVIRO-BARRIER™ VP, and ENVIRO-BARRIER™ SILICONE systems. It forms durable transitions around doors, windows, seams, joints, penetrations, beams, columns, and dissimilar substrates to maintain continuity throughout the building envelope.
Constructed with a proprietary synthetic rubber adhesive integrally bonded to a high-strength woven polyethylene/polypropylene film, X-Seal® Transition Membrane delivers long-term durability and weather resistance without the drawbacks of traditional rubberized asphalt membranes.

APPLICATIONS
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Apply in continuous lengths whenever possible for optimal adhesion and performance
- Surface must be clean, dry, and free from oils, dirt, dust, rust scale, or other contaminants that may reduce adhesion
- Install starting from the bottom of the wall and work upward
- Use a 3" roller with even pressure to ensure proper adhesion and smooth application
- When applying to rigid insulation, use Primer-SA Water-Based Primer prior to installation to help prevent loosening or curling
