The Thermal 2-Seal Tie is an innovative single screw veneer tie designed for metal stud construction. This high-performance tie is fabricated from stainless steel and coated with a proprietary material, tested in accordance with UL94, which sets the standard for flammability of plastic materials. It is engineered to reduce thermal transfer through rigid insulation, improving energy efficiency and reducing the risk of thermal bridging.
The dual-diameter barrel of the Thermal 2-Seal Tie is equipped with factory-installed stainless steel bonded EPDM washers, creating a secure seal for both the face of the insulation and the air/vapor barrier. The large 1-1/2" diameter washer helps to secure the insulation to the backup and eliminates penetrations caused by insulation fasteners.
Unlike traditional single barrel ties, the Thermal 2-Seal Tie ensures a more effective seal, even if the installation isn't perfectly perpendicular to the stud, helping to prevent air and moisture infiltration.
