EXTRA-DUTY SELF-ADHERING MEMBRANE FOR AIR, VAPOR, AND MOISTURE PROTECTION
AIR-SHIELD XLT is an extra-low temperature, self-adhering air, vapor, and liquid moisture barrier designed for cold weather applications as part of a complete W. R. MEADOWS building envelope system. This roll-type membrane is nominally 40 mils thick and is fabricated from cross-laminated polyethylene bonded to specially modified asphalt.
Protected by a release liner, AIR-SHIELD XLT is strong, durable, and flexible at extremely low temperatures, adhering to most primed surfaces down to 0°F (-18°C). The membrane forms a tough, long-lasting barrier or flashing that resists shrinking, sagging, cracking, and rotting, while providing excellent puncture resistance during installation. Its self-healing properties allow minor damage from fasteners or nails to recover, maintaining a continuous protective barrier.
USES
AIR-SHIELD XLT is ideal for a wide range of air, vapor, and moisture barrier applications, including:
- Cavity wall and masonry wall construction
- Precast and cast-in-place concrete
- Concrete block and masonry substrates
- Interior and exterior gypsum board
- Styrofoam, plywood, and OSB
- Primed steel, aluminum mill finish, anodized aluminum, and galvanized metal
It is suitable for both full wall systems and detailed transition areas where protection from air and moisture infiltration is critical.

STORAGE
Store on pallets and protect from rain, physical damage, and direct sunlight.
- Do not store above 90°F (32°C) for extended periods
- Do not double-stack pallets
- Keep away from sparks or open flames
- Outdoors, cover fully when stored
