LIQUID MEMBRANE FOR AIR, VAPOR, AND MOISTURE PROTECTION
AIR-SHIELD LSR (Liquid Synthetic Rubber) is a single-component, asphalt-free, synthetic rubber-based air/vapor and liquid moisture barrier. It cures to form a tough, seamless, elastomeric membrane that delivers excellent resistance to air and moisture transmission. A low-VOC version is available for projects in regulated areas, making it an environmentally responsible choice for building envelope protection.
USES
- Air/vapor and liquid moisture barrier for cavity wall and masonry wall construction
- Suitable for new construction and restoration projects
- Compatible with a variety of substrates including precast concrete, cast-in-place concrete, masonry (concrete block), interior and exterior gypsum board, Styrofoam, primed steel, aluminum mill finish, anodized aluminum, primed galvanized metal, drywall, and plywood
- Can be integrated into various wall systems for continuous air and moisture protection
FEATURES
- Non-asphaltic formulation meets stringent fire code requirements
- Low permeability prevents air and moisture transmission through porous building materials
- Highly flexible; bridges substrate cracks
- User-friendly, single-component, water-based technology allows safe, simple application and easy cleanup
- Liquid-applied for seamless, monolithic protection over rough or smooth surfaces
- Sprayable with appropriately configured airless equipment for efficient, low-cost installation
- Excellent adhesion, even to damp substrates
- Low VOC content, with an extra-low VOC option available
- Produces no harmful odors
- Compatible with asphalt-based emulsion products
- UV resistant; membrane can remain exposed up to four months
