DRAINAGE MAT FOR BRICK AND NATURAL STONE WALLS
Cav-Air-Ator® is a full wall drainage and ventilation mat designed for full brick or stone masonry walls. It prevents mortar from entering the cavity, clinging to wall ties, or blocking weep holes. The innovative design makes it extremely light and flexible to easily rest on top of brick ties.
Masonry structures are built to last for up to 100 years. However, excess moisture can affect durability and longevity. A masonry wall needs an air space free of mortar and debris for proper drainage and ventilation. Without this, moisture buildup can cause cracking, deterioration, and efflorescence. Cav-Air-Ator protects against moisture issues by maintaining an unobstructed air space for drainage and ventilation.

OVERVIEW
Cav-Air-Ator® is composed of an extruded polymer matrix of entangled monofilaments with a breathable filter fabric heat-laminated on one side. This filter prevents mortar intrusion while allowing enough finger room to lay brick properly. In masonry walls, it leaves 96.5% of the cavity free and unobstructed, promoting efficient moisture drainage and uniform airflow in all directions.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR BRICK
- Install first course of brick. Remove any mortar or debris from the cavity.
- Place the drainage mat in the cavity with the filter fabric facing out.
- The product does not require any fasteners. It will rest on the brick ties and be friction fit in the cavity.
- Install subsequent courses of brick, reaching the next brick tie.
- Repeat this process continuously throughout the full-height of the masonry cavity wall.
NOTE: At the bottom of the wall and above all through wall flashings, use multiple layers if there is open airspace between the drainage mat and the brick veneer.
