The sub-sill area of windows is highly susceptible to moisture buildup. MTI’s Window Drainage Plane™ (WDP) is designed to facilitate proper drainage in this critical region, protecting against water damage and prolonging the lifespan of the structure.

WINDOW DRAINAGE PLANE™ INSTALLATION

Prepare the Surface: Ensure the bottom of the window rough opening is sloped to drain.

Position WDP: Cut and place the WDP strip on the prepared surface. Use dabs of construction adhesive for temporary attachment.

Flash the Opening: Follow the window manufacturer’s instructions to flash the rough opening properly.

Install the Window: Place and secure the window over the WDP.

WINDOW DRAINAGE PLANE™ SPECIFICATIONS

Material: 0.024" (0.6 mm) thick high-impact polystyrene.

Design: Corrugations are 0.120" (3 mm) deep, formed into an L-shape.

Dimensions: 5" (127 mm) wide by 9" (229 mm) high, fitting on the sub-sill region before window installation.
