OVERVIEW
R-Guard AirDam is a high-performance, gun-grade waterproofing sealant that combines the best properties of silicone and polyurethane. It is specifically formulated as an interior air sealant to create a durable, weather-tight barrier that prevents moisture-laden outside air from entering and conditioned indoor air from escaping around window and door assemblies.
Installed in rough openings prepared with R-Guard FastFlash, AirDam diverts wind-driven rain and condensation to the flashing membrane and water-resistive barrier, keeping living spaces protected.
This silyl-terminated polymer (STP) sealant is immediately waterproof and bonds to dry or damp substrates, allowing for application in various weather conditions and minimizing construction delays. AirDam cures rapidly, providing a durable, elastomeric seal that performs in both interior and exterior applications. It is compatible with all types of window and door frame materials, including vinyl, wood, and painted or unpainted metal.
As a properly applied interior window sealant, AirDam can significantly reduce heating and cooling costs for buildings.
